Privacy Policy

Who We Are

daymark is made and published by Sebastian Sjöqvist, an independent developer based in Sweden, who is the data controller for the limited information described below under the EU General Data Protection Regulation. A postal address is available on request.

What We Collect

Nothing. daymark has no accounts, no sign-in and no servers of our own. We never receive your data.

Everything you create (your countdowns, their titles, dates, colours, icons and any photos you attach) is stored on your device. If iCloud is enabled on your device, that data also syncs through your own private iCloud account.

We do not collect location data, contacts, browsing history, advertising identifiers or any special category data. There is no analytics SDK and no third-party tracking in this app.

iCloud Sync

Sync uses Apple's CloudKit private database. Your daymarks are stored in your own iCloud account, under your Apple Account, and are not accessible to us at any point.

Apple processes that data as an independent controller under its own privacy policy, which you can read at apple.com/privacy. You can turn sync off, or remove the data entirely, from iCloud settings on your device.

Photos

We request access to your photo library only when you choose to add a photo to a card, and we read only the photo you pick. Photos you attach are stored with the card, on your device and in your private iCloud data. They are never uploaded to us, scanned or analysed.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, reminders are scheduled locally on your device by iOS. We do not operate a push server and we do not know which reminders you have set.

Purchases

daymark premium is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Payment details are processed by Apple and never reach us. We receive no personal data from your purchase. The app only asks Apple whether this Apple Account owns the purchase.

Launch Updates

If you sign up on daymark-app.com to hear when daymark launches, we keep your email address and the language of the page you signed up on, and nothing else. We use them only to email you about daymark's launch and major news. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by confirming your address through the link in our first email.

The list is held for us by Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, Paris, France), which stores it in the EU and processes it only on our instructions. We don't share it with anyone else, and our emails contain no tracking.

Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us at privacy@daymark-app.com to delete your address at any time. We keep it until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.

Our Website

daymark-app.com is hosted by Vercel (Vercel Inc., San Francisco, USA), which, like any web host, briefly processes your IP address to deliver the pages. To learn how many people visit and which pages they read, we use Vercel Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and doesn't follow you across other sites. A visit is recognised by a hash of your request that Vercel discards within 24 hours, and we only see totals, such as page views, countries, browsers and the sites that linked to us.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used. Vercel processes this data on our behalf under its data processing agreement, which also covers transfers outside the EU.

Your Rights

The app holds no personal data about you, so there is nothing in it for us to disclose, correct, export or erase, and no profiling or automated decision-making takes place. If you signed up for launch updates, you can ask us to see, correct or delete your email address at any time.

Your data lives in your device and your own iCloud account, so you exercise these rights directly: delete a card in the app, delete the app to remove local data, or clear daymark's iCloud data from iCloud settings on your device.

If you are in the EEA or UK and believe your data has been mishandled, you may contact us at privacy@daymark-app.com, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

Children

daymark is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 16 (or the minimum age set by your country).

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page is updated and the new version appears here in the app.
